The Yoho Baby & co Journey
Back in 2019 new mum Monique had the idea to create a reusable cloth nappy company and Yoho & Co was born. Monique & her hubby Ben had started using cloth nappies with their new baby Brodie and they absolutely loved it. They wanted to make cloth more accessible to NZ families
Fast forward to 2022 after the birth of their second child Pippa, they made the decision to pass Yoho & Co to new hands. This is where, I, Linda come into the picture. I am a nana, not a new mum (I have 2 gorgeous grandies and more to come, hopefully soon) everything I was learning about cloth nappies really sparked my interest, the ethos behind this sort of living is right up my alley and one that I aspire to in my everyday living!
The loves of my life besides the obvious of family are companion pets & animal welfare, so much so that back in 2005 I created a NZ company called Pet Central. My ethos with this company was to keep the products as natural as I could, support NZ businesses, offer excellent customer service and have an excellent selection of quality and affordable products. After 17 years in the Pet Industry I needed a change, I was looking for months for something to grab me and when I saw Yoho & Co, I was like YES!! I can do this - I have a strong desire to do my bit for the planet, I love babies and have a strong E-Commerce background and I excel in Customer service
You will find a lot of my products are premium NZ made from other small NZ businesses. The exclusive print designs of our Yoho Baby & co. Cloth Nappy range is inspired by NZ & Overseas artists and I have strong emphasis on premium + eco friendly + sustainable products for babies & mums
I take enormous pride in being 100% NZ owned and I aim to give you the best customer service experience you have ever had! All stock is held in my "nappy room" and if you order before 1pm on weekdays you will most likely get same day dispatch
So from our family to yours ! We are very happy to meet you ~ Linda, my hubby Brett - who will become newly known as Chief Helper & Packer of all things important & Zeke, our beloved, naughty Rotty puppy who no doubt will be keeping a watchful eye on the couriers xx
Fitting the Nappy
- Prepare the Nappy: Lay out the nappy flat. Ensure the inserts are properly placed and if you have more than one have the most absorbent at the back.
- Lift the Baby: Carefully lift your baby's legs and place their bottom on the nappy.
- Position Correctly: The nappy should be at the same level as your baby’s waist. Ensure it's not too high or too low.
- Secure the Nappy: Fasten the nappy snugly. Adjust the domes to achieve a comfortable but firm fit. You can pre snap together the 'rise' domes (the domes at the front to make the nappy smaller).
- Check the Leg Holes: Ensure there are no gaps around the thighs. It should be snug but not too tight to avoid discomfort or marks on the skin. Running your finger around these works well.
- Adjust the Waistband: The waistband should be snug but comfortable. You should be able to fit two or three fingers under the waistband but no more.
- Final Inspection: Do a final check to ensure the nappy is even, sung, but comfy.
Importance of a Secure, but Comfortable Fit:
Having a snug fitting reusable nappy is crucial for preventing leaks and blowouts. A well-fitted nappy ensures that all waste is contained within the nappy, keeping your baby comfortable and preventing any mess from escaping. This not only keeps your baby clean and dry but also reduces laundry and clean-up time. Additionally, a secure fit helps to avoid skin irritations and ensures the nappy stays in place as your baby moves and plays.
